Meet Mindy Hitchcock, New IAHL President
If you know Mindy,
you also know we’re in for a fun year. Mindy is family
law practitioner in the Detroit area. She is full of
enthusiasm and ideas on how to grow IAHL to attract
those people who share our philosophy but don’t
know about us---yet.
Mindy founded her practice under the
name LADY4JUSTICE PLLC. Here’s what Mindy tells
the public about her approach:
You
know how people say divorce has to be a
battlefield?
Well, they're wrong. Using my proven approach I
help clients have a win-win divorce and emerge from
the process with a lot less emotional baggage. I call
it Holistic Divorce.
See Mindy's
website at
www.lady4justice.com.

Greetings Members and Friends,
There's lots going on at IAHL these
days. The
conference at Asilomar was great fun. Tim Batdorf,
our new vice president, is
sponsoring a monthly FAQ call. And the listserv is
very active. Read more below.
The new webpage is launched! Among
other things, we've updated the underlying
technology, including an easy-to-search "Lawyer
Locator" function. See the lower left column for
instructions on how to add your profile
to the Locator.
The new
webpage is still a
work in
progress, but we just couldn't wait. We know some
things need to be added or revised. For example, we
want to modify the categories in Lawyer Locator so
they're flexible enough to suit all members. (You defy
categorization!) If you have ideas on the webpage,
please send them to info@iahl.org. Or, better yet,
join the listserv (see below) and we can all get in on
the discussion.

The 2006 Conference at Asilomar

Here's the group photo from the 2006 IAHL Annual
Conference in April. It was informative, encouraging,
and all around warm-hearted. Click on the photo to
pull up Mindy's President's Column describing what we
did. Keep moving through the article to see all the
pictures.

IAHL Listserv

Our listserv has taken off like a rocket, thanks to
those who attended the conference. We started to
share ideas early on and really never quit. New
member Jennifer Foster from Asheville, with carl
Michael rossi’s technical assistance, is the
administrator.
Our recent topics on the listserv, for example,
include
the following:
Interest in gathering for a group
swearing-in at the U.S. Supreme Court.
Starting IAHL chapters in law schools, as well as
starting local chapters.
Phil Daunt, the Coach Approach to Lawyering
maven, offered (first-come-first served) free
admission to the recent CoachVille conference in
Chicago—thanks no doubt to Phil’s persuasive powers
and the generosity of Dave Buck, the president of
CoachVille.
Ideas about next year’s conference on
Empowerment. We’re kicking around ideas on good
presentations on the topic and where to hold next
year’s conference.
The listserv is for paid-up
members only. If
you’re currently paid up (or not sure) and you want
on the listserv, e-mail listserv@iahl.org to
get instructions. See more below on renewing or
becoming a member. Sign up now and get the rest of
the summer free!
