If you're looking for a dynamite conference at an incredibly low cost, this is it! The 2008 Annual Conference, May 15-18, 2008, will be held at The Retreat Center in Plymouth, Michigan. The theme for the conference is Authentic Lawyering: Practicing from the Heart.

Plans include Ward Powers as a keynote speaker. A lawyer, he created and produced One the Movie, a film about the concept of oneness. Lorraine Weber, who is head of the Detroit Metro Bar Association--and a shaman--will open the conference. 2008 Annual Conference Agenda

The conference fee has to be the best deal in the country---$350 ($300 for paid-up members, $150 for students). Here are two more benefits for your registration dollars:

Meals included

The registration fee includes admission to all sessions plus all meals from Thursday dinner through Sunday breakfast. And don’t expect beans and wieners. Italian Chef Franco Fontana directs the kitchen and we’re assured the food is really good. If you want a vegetarian menu, you must email your request by May 1, to Laura Parrett at treasurer@iahl.org.

On-site rooms at a great rate---if you act now

And it gets better: some on-site rooms are still available at an incredibly low-price. We were able to reserve another block of rooms, but it is limited so act now.

These are “retreat” rooms---no TV or phone, but rest assured, they have heat and A/C and their own private baths. The retro-looking rates are:

Single occupancy room (full or queen bed): $42/night

Double occupancy room (full or queen bed): $62/night

These are available only to those who have registered and paid for the conference. (You can do that on-line). You must make a separate reservation for an on-site room, by emailing Laura Parrett at treasurer@iahl.org.
